Possibly wrong to bring it up in an RIP box, but: whilst peering into the depths of the David Shankbone portrait on Silliman’s Blog, it struck me that if anyone were planning to make a film of Carroll’s life (and yes, I know there’s already the Basketball Diaries movie with DiCaprio, which I don’t specifically recall ever getting around to see) they should totally cast Tilda Swinton as Jim Carroll. Seriously. She would be awesome.
