Red Kites at Gigrin Farm

This is not a huge distance from where I spent ten years; I was about 25 miles further west. There were red kites nesting nearby, and I used to see them all the time, but it’s exhilerating to see them in such numbers.

You may want to mute the fuzzy felt electronica soundtrack (there’s no commentary), and the footage isn’t really that hot — still, I’m imagining this kind of amateur video a few iterations down the road, after kite-camera enthusiasts (the other kind of kite) or model plane enthusiasts get interested in wildlife photography. Those people could give a project like this a whole new set of diagonals.
