Damn Interesting » Tesla’s Tower of Power
“In this system that I have invented, it is necessary for the machine to get a grip of the earth,” he explained, “otherwise it cannot shake the earth. It has to have a grip… so that the whole of this globe can quiver.”
Though it was far from completion, it was rumored to have been tested on several occasions, with spectacular, crowd-pleasing results. The ultimate purpose of this unique structure was to change the world forever.
I really couldn’t miss the opportunity to use this picture. Nikola Tesla‘s been coming at me in waves lately. I have watched, and will have to watch again before I am prepared to write about The Prestige, he’s appeared as a search term in the logs hereabouts, and of course in the earlier stages of Against The Day, which I am still just under two hundred pages from finishing, thank you for asking and yes, as it happens, I am a slowish reader, thank you for pointing it out. Wardenclyffe Tower, illustrated is the one referred to during Kit’s period of employment by Scarsdale Vibe, if that’s any help.

Cool Tesla totality photo!
