Last night I picked up the guitar and worked out the chords to Pachelbel’s Canon in D. I’d reckoned it would be easy to learn, and it was.
This morning I noodled with it some more.
This evening, a curious sequence of pages brought me up to the virtual gates of my alma mater (no, I’m not linking to it, do you think I am insane?)
The site is absolutely hideous, Flash-based, and boasts a soundtrack: a cheesy MIDI version of Pachelbel’s Canon. Except they call it “All Together Now” by The Farm. And they have menu buttons for “Parents” and “Student’s”. This made it onto the front page of the school’s web site. I kid you not. You want to reach down the browser window at them and give them a good shake. And shout at them. Nevertheless, I was tickled that in the 24 hours preceding my first, unpremeditated visit to the site, I learned the sig tune, and I was able to pick up the guitar and play along with the cheesy soundtrack, which I am sorry to say, I actually did.
weird prefiguration
