World’s Fair

Esao Andrews, World's FairFresh from the ‘Chums of Chance’ opening section of Against The Day, I scratched up a few pages concerning airships and the World’s Columbian Exposition of 1893. Expect plenty more AtD-related bloggery here, over the next few months.
None of the airship pages seemed to have models that were entirely relevant to the period, although the large collection at earlyaviator.com may yet turn up something suitable. Anyway, I moved on, as one must, only to be unexpectedly overtaken by the picture you see here: World’s Fair, by Esao Andrews.

Looking over Andrews’ (slightly bonkers) site, it seems that his older work is looser and less finished, and only the most recent works have the degree of hallucinatory sharpness in evidence here. There’s a recent-ish interview with Esao at PixelSurgeon.
