More developments with the new Pynchon book: the publication date has been moved forward a couple of weeks to November 21st in the States, although its still December 5th in the UK. Strangely, the page count has also changed, but it’s changed to different numbers either side of the Atlantic: it’s gone up from nine-hundred-and-something to 1120 pages for the USA, and 1040 in the UK. There is now a cover design, too, and here it is. Notice the shadowy serif type underlaying the sans-serif? I just pointed this out to a friend, who pointed out in turn that I should get out more. Amazon.com is offering a deal for the book, bundled with the new Cormac McCarthy, which is rather tempting…
